Job Title: Research Associate Summary: The Research Associate will play an important role in developing new products in the adhesives or sealants field. The successful candidate for this position will work with other scientists to carry out laboratory tasks in adhesives and sealants formulating and testing. The candidate must have basic knowledge of chemistry, materials science or physics, and some prior working experience in laboratory setting. Responsibilities Include: Prepare formulations of adhesives or sealants under instruction of other scientists Perform instrumental testing according to established guidelines Collect testing data and completes necessary documentation Effectively coordinate between multiple tasks as per priority laid by other scientists Distribution of samples internally and externally to customers. Daily lab maintenance and periodic lab organization. Maintain a safety mindset and a safe working environment for all employees. Completes other duties as assigned Travel: 0% Qualifications: The following are required for the role Knowledge of chemistry, materials science, or physics, with the ability to carry out lab experiments. Ability to operate lab equipment in safely manner. Proficient with MS office software. Excellent verbal and written communication in English The following qualifications are preferred for the role: BS degree in the field of chemistry, materials science, or physics, with experience in laboratory setting Preferably with 5-10 year experience related to chemical industry Experience working in adhesives, sealants, coatings, or related industry. Experience with formulating and testing of adhesives, sealants, coatings, or similar applications. Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a cross-functional team environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, turn, lift, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Reaching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, sight, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Regularly lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, and the ability to pass a fit test and wear a respirator is required for most positions. The environment for this position is a laboratory setting.
